Information Collection and Use
Evie does not collect any personal information from its users in any of the free usage scenarios.
If you want to use the paid services offered inside the app, you will have to create an Evie account, and registration requires a valid email address. The address does not have to be your main address, it does not have to be your Play Store email, or any other personally identifiable address. You can use an anonymous address, as long as you have access to read emails from that address.
The email address is used for 2 reasons:
Evie does not collect names, addresses, credit card information or any other kind of personally identifiable data except the email address you provided when you Registered in Evie, which is used as a login identifier.
In App Purchases
If you purchase services in Evie, Evie will only have access to the identifier of the purchase as offered by Google Play Store, which does not in contain any personally identifiable information. The only information offered by Google is the kind of service you purchased. The history of all purchases you made in Evie is stored by Evie in your account, next to the email address you provided when you Registered in Evie.
Usage Data
Evie collects anonymous usage data, strictly related to how users operate Evie. We track activities performed in Evie and Evie crash reports. That is, we know how many times a button or a menu were clicked in Evie, how many times the application malfunctioned, and the malfunctioning reason, but we do not know which user was using the application at the time.
Ads, Internet and Permissions
Evie does not play ads. Evie can be used without internet but some features of the application use Cloud services that will not work without Internet access.
When using cloud based voices, the text that needs to be converted to audio is sent to a third party server, like Amazon or Google servers, which will convert it to speech and return the audio data. Evie does not control if or for how long will the third parties store the text or the generated audio.
Evie users have complete access to delete their login information, the books loaded in the application and the generated audio.
Evie does not require any permissions to run. It will not request access to your SD card, user identification, contacts, nor any other kind of information the is protected by an Android permission. Google always displays prominent warnings when an app requests a permission and apps cannot hide the warnings. When using Evie, you will not see any permission warnings because Evie does not request any permissions.
Cookies and Service Providers
Evie does not store or use cookies. or vendor. Evie does not track your web activity in any way.
We employ services provided by third-party companies, to facilitate our service. We do not share any personally identifiable information with any third-party companies or individuals with the exception of the email address you provided when you Registered in Evie, which is used as a login identifier.
All data sent to the backend servers used by Evie is encrypted using the SSL protocol which is the standard security protocol globally used on Internet.
Children’s Privacy
Evie does not offer any functionality specifically targeted to children age of 13 or under. We do not enforce a minimum age requirement to allow access to the application. Evie uses the in-app purchases made by, and as required by Google. If you want to control your children's ability to purchase services in Evie, you can restrict their access to Google Play Store payments, using the parent control features offered by Google.
